SAN JUAN, MM--Perpetual Help somehow complicated the race for the two NCAA semifinal incentives after pipping Arellano, 76-62, in front of a huge crowd at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Thursday.

The Altas started the match on a high note and countered every rally mounted by the Chiefs to force a tie for second place at 10-3, a full game behind the San Beda Red Lions, who will play the Mapua Cardinals later Thursday.

Gab Dagangon led Perpetual Help with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting, nine rebounds, three assists, and two blocks, while Keith Pido contributed 10 points, four rebounds, and seven assists while holding his ground against Jio Jalalon.

Jalalon, while scoring 19 points for Arellano, was 7-of-22 from the field. Kent Salado top scored for the team with 22 points of his own.

The Chiefs failed in their bid to tie the Red Lions at the top of the standings.
