MANILA-- Stallion and Kaya both played one of the best draws of the season, as they were forced to share the points following a 2-2 stalemate between them to cap off last Sunday's UFL doubleheader late in the afternoon at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Fitch Arboleda dived for the equalizer in the 58th minute, as both sides played out a fairly contested encounter in which Kaya dominated the shot count but were also had more fouls and bookings than the former double winners as the former Malditas gaffer's words that Stallion's matches with Kaya are not a boring encounter rang true once again.
Jovin Bedic's opener in the first half had also been cancelled out by Nate Aquiros six minutes before half time as Ref Cuaresma and Matthew Acton also shone in the battle of the custodians althroughout the match
The former Pachanga man shoved Chris Greatwich's men ahead 21 minutes in with a smashing half-volley that stuns Cuaresma, in which the former La Salle standout duly equalized eighteen minutes later with a volley of his own to beat the Australian into the top corner as both sides went to their changing rooms the same way the match began.
Kaya found their way to go ahead yet again at the restart, with Louis Clark put Kaya ahead with a first-timed hit from close range, but the former UE booter put the match back on level pegging with a diving header of a Christian Nana cross from the right wing.
Both clubs had a fair share of chances to grab the decisive strike, but Stallion skipper Ruben Doctora had it the closest with three minutes to go, but had his shot went over and out, as the former league champions are yet to win in the second round with their fifth straight stalemate.
