SAN JUAN, MM—All of a sudden, San Beda is struggling.

The Red Lions fell prey to the JRU Heavy Bombers, 97-88, dropping their third NCAA game of the last four at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Tuesday.

Teytey Teodoro once again took over JRU with a season-high 28 points on 11-of-21 shooting, while MJ Dela Virgen tallied a career-high 20 points, 15 in the first half.

The Bombers started the game red-hot, quickly opening a double-digit lead in the first quarter that stretched to as high as 27 in the third.

The Red Lions kept the game interesting, drawing to as close as seven, 86-93, with 1:21 left, but timely layups by Abdul Abdul-Wahab kept them at bay in the end.

Javee Mocon scored 26 markers for San Beda, which slipped to second place following Arellano's win against Lyceum earlier Tuesday.

JRU's win, which catapulted the team to 9-6, put the team on a virtual tie with Mapua, currently at 8-5, for fourth place with the latter getting the better on a better winning rate.

The said result also eliminated Lyceum and Sebastian from playoff contention.
