TNT turns back SMB to strengthen hold of Govs Cup lead

BATANGAS--After delivering the game-winning basket against GlobalPort, Ranidel De Ocampo showed game-long brilliance on Saturday night as TNT clobbered San Miguel, 105-85, in a PBA Governors' Cup action at the Batangas City Coliseum.

De Ocampo made 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting with five rebounds and one steal for the KaTropa, who used a 33-point third quarter to break out of a close fight with the Beermen.

Jayson Castro added a double-double of 16 points and 13 assists alongside two rebounds and one steal for TNT, which moved up to 8-1 and tightened its grip of the lead in the team standings while also taking a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.

Junemar Fajardo poured in 20 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, and three blocks for SMB, whose current import Mike Singletary struggled at the foul line, making only four of 11 charities.
