MANILA--The PRFU kicked off its preparation for the Asia Rugby Championship next year by calling up the top players from top rugby clubs Alabang, Nomads, CBRE, and Makati to form a training pool for the said tournament.
Justin Coveney, Jakey Letts, and Jovan Masalunga lead ten long-time Volcanoes who make it to the said pool, to be called the Residents XV.
They will be backstopped by top locals who are vying for their first national team caps, including Greg Coleman, Jackson Vatu, and Epineri Vulakouvaki.
“On paper this team is surprisingly very strong, getting together the best players from all the top clubs in the country makes this program really exciting,” said PRFU director Matt Cullen.

The Residents will play their first game as a whole against Sabah in a friendly match on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Eagles' Nest in Calamba.
“I have no doubt this Sunday’s game will be an extremely physical and tough encounter against a strong Sabah team,” Cullen said on his expectations.
