MANILA--The ABL will get national TV exposure in the Philippines again!
ABS-CBN will be the official Philippine free TV broadcaster of East Asia's premier home-and-away cagefest.
The partnership between the league and the broadcasting giant was formalized with a contract signing made by Charlie Dy and Dondon Monteverde of Virtual Playground, which represented Alab Pilipinas, the Philippine team for the 2017 season, ABL COO Jericho Ilagan, and ABS-CBN Integrated Sports head Dino Laurena.
“When Virtual Playground first approached us for this project, we were very excited. We believe we can take basketball in this country and raise the game to a whole new level through our participation in the ABL,” Laurena said in a statement.
Dy added, “This is a chance for us to give Filipino athletes a platform to showcase our talents and abilities on an international level.”

All the games of Alab, which replaced the Pilipinas Kings as the Filipino contingent, will be aired live on ABS-CBN Sports and Action along with some key matches pitting two of the other five participating clubs: Saigon, Singapore, Malaysia, and Alab's fellow expansion franchises Kaohsiung and Eastern Sports Club.
