MANILA--La Salle will be shorthanded entering its much-awaited UAAP men's basketball showdown against Ateneo at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay on Sunday.

Coach Aldin Ayo and skipper Jeron Teng will not see action for the currently 6-0 Green Archers as they try to complete a first round sweep against their arch rivals Blue Eagles at 4 p.m.

Ayo will serve his one-game suspension, which was the automatic sanction for his ejection against UE on Wednesday also at the said venue. La Salle submitted an appeal to Commissioner Rebo Saguisag on Friday but was denied on Saturday.

Teng, on the other hand, will sit out the match as well due to an injury.

In the first game at 12 p.m., Adamson and UE try to bounce back from their respective losses to La Salle as they lock horns.

Tickets for the Adamson-UE game are separate from the tickets to be sold for the Ateneo-La Salle match-up.
