QUEZON CITY--Jayson Castro was named the Best Player of the PBA Governors' Cup on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum prior to Game 2 of the finals series between Ginebra and Meralco.

The TNT guard edged out San Miguel's prolific big man Junemar Fajardo for the said plum after getting of the votes from the league, the media, and the players.

Overall, Castro amassed 1,092 points, which was enough for him to take the award as Fajardo only got 857 total points.

On the other hand, Meralco's Allen Durham took home the Best Import award after receiving the better of the votes also from the PBA, the scribes, and the ballers.

Durham garnered a total of 1,273 points, better than those of Ginebra's Justin Brownlee, who had 1,028.

Both Durham and Brownlee are actually behind Phoenix's Eugene Phelps in the stats race, but the finalists' imports got the huge chunk of the votes due to their teams making the semifinals and eventually the championship round.

Durham became the second consecutive Bolt to take home the Best Import plum with Arinze Onuaku winning the Commissioner's Cup Best Import award.
