QUEZON CITY -- It's final.

UP Pep Squad, one of the front-runners in the UAAP Cheerdance, is officially skipping this year’s competition.

Known for their Filipiniana routines, the eight-time champions of the competition issued an official statement on their facebook page citing about their inquiry on the controversial win of the NU Pep Squad last season. It also stated that the Squad and management tried to communicate with organizers of the competition and to the league itself but to no avail.

"Reared in the institution we represent, we abide with our principles of honor and integrity, and stay true to our word of foregoing with the competition, should the same organizers be hired to handle the event again." the statement read.

The UAAP Cheerdance Competition is set on November 19 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum with DLSU and hosts UST leading off and would be closed by the reigning three-peat champions.
They assured to the fans that they will still participate in other competitions outside the UAAP representing the country in the Asian Cheerleading and Dancesport Competition.

Here are the complete order of the performers:

1. DLSU Animo Squad
2. UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe (hosts)
3. Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion
4. FEU Cheering Squad
5. Adamson Pep Squad
6. UE Pep Squad.
7. NU Pep Squad (defending champions)
