Kaya gores Forza for five to finish fifth

MANILA-- Kaya finished their season by blanking Forza, 5-0 to finish fifth in the table as the United Football League starts its penultimate matchday early Saturday evening at the Rizal Memorial Stadium

Robert Lopez-Mendy bagged for four goals in a comprehensive rout, while Charlie Beaton added another one to finish the season on a high note, just a week after their quest for second place were crushed in one fell swoop by Loyola.

The Senegalese striker scored in the 7th, 14th, 72nd and 83rd, notching a brace in each half, while the former Loyola reserve added one three minutes after Lopez-Mendy's fourth.

Kaya's defence were as tough as a stonewall, as Forza did not record even a single shot althroughout the match, as opposed to 32 of the former cup holders.

Chris Greatwich's men ended 2016 with 37 points out of their 19 matches, with Forza fortunate to get out of the cellar as they finished their campaign with 14 points, seven ahead of wooden spoon Laos.
