Makati, BSM, LSGH rule Yellow Cab Cup kiddie divisions

Makati celebrated after beating Kaya Yellow on penalties in their U11 final.

MAKATI--Makati needed a penalty shootout before trampling Kaya Yellow, 3-1, to claim the U11 championship of the first Yellow Cab Football Cup at the Chelsea-Gatorade Blue Pitch on Saturday.

With both teams going scoreless in regulation, the final went to the spot kicks, and Makati's goalkeeper made a save in Kaya's first try before his teammates went 3-of-3 to take home the title.

Meanwhile, British School Manila dominated the U7 Division as both of the said schools' teams made the final.

BSM White formalized the 1-2 finish with a 3-1 victory over BSM Blue in the said clash.

On the other hand, La Salle-Greenhills reigned in the U9 Division after beating Makati, 3-1, in the championship match.

Makati's U11 team, BSM White, and LSGH each got PHP10 thousand worth of gift certificates from Yellow Cab as prize for winning it all.

Their selected charities also ended up big winners as ICanServe Foundation (Makati), Fair Play for All Foundation (BSM White), and Fields of Hope (LSGH) each received PHP20 thousand in cash.

The U13, U15, and the U17 Girls playoffs are ongoing as of posting.
