MANILA--Nomads finally scored its first win in the JML 7's League, pipping Clark, 10-5, at the Southern Plains Rugby Field in Calamba over the weekend.
The Paranaque side stunned the heavily-favored Angeles squad with Jonel Madrona and James Duke each scoring tries for the former.
Both clubs will meet again twice on Saturday night as action swings back to the Chelsea-Gatorade Blue Pitch in Makati.
In the distaff side, QCPU split its two missions in a relatively-impressive manner, blanking Miriam, 20-0, and pushing Alabang to the limit before getting subdued by only a single try, 0-5.
The said win by the Lady Eagles gave them some distance from the rest of the women's division as they will take the Saturday off.
Their male counterparts will also take a break on Saturday night, but for the Ibons and the Loros, they could slip to second place as CBRE-B can steal the top spot from the Ibons in the plate division with a win against the Manila Hapons at 6:40 p.m. and Subic can move past the Loros to the top of the bowl division with a victory against La Liga earlier in the night at 6:15 p.m.
The Eagles, on the other hand, will take the week off with them comfortably on top of the cup division.
