MANILA--The Philippine SuperLiga imposed a PHP50 thousand fine and
one-year suspension each on Philippine Navy-Standard Insurance players Pau
Soriano and Lilet Mabbayad on Monday night for seeing action at the Shakey’s V-League Season 13
Reinforced Conference.
Soriano and Mabbayad suited up for Bureau of Customs, which is playing the University of the Philippines at the time the sanction was announced.
The PSL and the clubs participating in that league have a
standing agreement that none of the players in contract can participate in
other commercial competitions.
In response, Navy placed the two volleybelles on
AWOL.
