QUEZON CITY--The future definitely looks bright for Blackwater.

Top prospect Mac Belo immediately made his presence felt in his first game as a pro, spearheading the Elite in its impressive win over Phoenix, 94-87, on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum to start their campaign for the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup.

The former FEU stalwart cashed in 17 points in his debut for the Elite, who is trying to flip the pages and remove its tag of being victims of no sweat defeats.

Sophomore Art Dela Cruz connived with Belo for the first game victory, finishing with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Phoenix, on the other hand, was almost carried singlehandedly by Simon Enciso who finished with game high 25 markers, but Belo and company had other things in mind as they put up the finishing touches in the dying moments en route to winning the game.

JC Intal and rookie Gelo Alolino had 12 and 11, respectively, for the Fuel Masters in a losing effort.
