MANILA--For One Championship president Victor Cui, the upcoming lightweight championship showdown between Eduard Folayang and Shinya Aoki could be a cinch for fight of the year.
"The main event [of One: Defending Honor] is a legitimate super fight in every sense of the word," Cui said about the Folayang-Aoki clash, the headliner of the said fight card in Singapore on Friday night.

Cui also believes the "contra-pelo" factor between the two prized fighters makes the bout even more anticipated.
"We have the best fighter from the Philippines going up against one of the best fighters from Japan and the world. It's Brazilian jiu-jitsu against wushu, the true Filipino warrior versus the iconic Japanese MMA legend. The storylines are set and ready to bring the crowd up to their feet," he particularly said.
Folayang earlier revealed that he focused on battling Aoki on the ground through training sessions with former UFC star Mark Muñoz and champion judoka and jiujitsu player John Baylon.
