PASAY--Bibiano Fernandes has been frequently booked during One Championship's first fight cards in the Philippines, even taking the MMA outfit's bantamweight title in front of a raucous crowd at the Mall of Asia Arena and successfully retaining the belt there.

The said conquests made him a favorite among the Filipino MMA fans despite him being a pure Brazilian.

However, come Friday night, he will defend his title against a Filipino, which could potentially mean the expected jam-packed crowd could turn on him.

He is fine with it.

"[About the jeers], that's OK. I still love the Filipino people," Fernandes simply told a group of reporters during a pocket press conference for One: Age of Domination at the Vikings Restaurant along the Mall of Asia Complex on Tuesday.

Fernandes takes on Fil-Aussie challenger Reece McLaren for the said belt in the co-main event of the said fight card headlined by the Brandon Vera-Hideki Sekine match for the heavyweight belt.

“Reece McLaren is the latest challenge and I am ready to face him,” Fernandes vowed.
