But the said event is also open to athletes.
"Athletes can also benefit from it. Most of our athletes, after a competition or retirement, go to the coaching field," said Prof. Dina Bernardo, the founder of SportPhil, one of the organizing bodies of the three-day event during the press launch at Wolfgang Steakhouse inside Resorts World Manila on Thursday.
UP CHK dean Ronnie Dizer added that the PSC will also have a hand in the said conference that will take place at the said campus in Quezon City.
"[PSC Chairman Butch Ramirez] will attend the event, and he will be bringing along with them 50 national coaches," Dizer said
On how the PSC came in, executive Director Carlo Abarquez said, "During the national consultative meeting for the PSI, this idea was presented to us, and we are open to participating. We understand that most of our coaches lack formal training. They are interested in learning new things especially in sports science."
He later said, "Hopefully, it will help the coaches in modernizing their training methods and as a career development for them."
