Mbala wins UAAP MVP award

MANILA--Ben Mbala has simply taken UAAP by storm in only his first season.

The La Salle center is set to be named the season MVP after simply dominating the field.

Mbala, a transfer player from SWU, got 92.4286 statistical points, way ahead of second placer Papi Sarr of Adamson, who finished with 69.8571.

Mbala's fellow Green Archer Jeron Teng is third with 57.3333 SP's, while UP Fighting Maroon Paul Desiderio took fourth place with 55.1429.

Rounding the top five is FEU's Raymar Jose with 53.6429 SP's.

Mbala averaged 20.6 points, 16.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2.4 blocks a game during the eliminations, leading La Salle to a 13-1 record en route to the top seed in the Final Four, which will begin on Nov. 23.
