PASIG—Christmas may be a holiday season for most of us.

But for Alab Pilipinas, there is still work to be done.

Co-owner Charlie Dy told Dugout Philippines on Friday night that the team will devote the Yuletide for further buildup.

"We still have practice, 'coz we really need to gel since when we played against Singapore during the opener, we only had a one-week practice," said the well-known player agent, who stopped by the PhilSports Arena to watch the PBA games.

Good thing for Alab, its Christmas break was prolonged during the preseason press conference when both Alab and Saigon agreed to move their Dec. 23 game to Jan. 28, giving the Philippine team more time to bond together.

For Dy, the break will help Alab, currently 2-2 in the ABL season, prepare for the remainder of the 2017 calendar.

"Hopefully, in this long break, the team will gel more and we'll be able to bounce back come 2017," he said in conclusion.

Alab's first game for calendar year 2017 is a Jan. 8 match at Kaohsiung.
