Banchero ready to go clutch from deep again after game-winning triple against Meralco

QUEZON CITY--Chris Banchero is not that known for his three-pointers.

In fact, he only made one attempt from beyond the arc on Wednesday night in Alaska's game against Meralco at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

However, the point guard buried that shot, and it turned out to be the difference as the Aces walked away with an 81-79 come-from-behind win.

"We got a new dead-shot shooter with the game on the line in Chris Banchero," Coach Alex Compton told the media during the post-game press conference.

But when the reporters asked Banchero, who last year said that he is working on his outside game, about his take on the go-ahead trey, he said that he just took the opportunity.

"The ball got in my hands, and I got some space," he said, recalling the said shot, which was off an RJ Jazul dish.

Also, he prefers to take the role of the facilitator than a go-to guy.

"We have great shooters on our team. We got great scorers, I'm just looking to facilitate and get everybody going," Banchero continued.

However, when asked if he is willing to take a clutch triple again, he answered, "I'm gonna take the shot every single time."
