MANILA--Loyola made a Christmas Day announcement earlier today by hiring former Azkals gaffer Aris Caslib and former Malditas stalwart Belay Fernando to lead the squad as its head tactician and team manager, respectively ahead of next season, with the much anticipated Philippines Football League set to kick off in three months time.

The pair replace Simon McMenemy and Armand Del Rosario, who vacate their respective posts on various reasons.

A pioneer of the club since its takeover by the MVP group in 2011, the Ateneo alumnus moved up to its ranks as she also served as its assistant team manager last season.

Currently playing for Green Archers United in the PFF Women's League, Fernando is set to make Philippine club football history, as she will be the first woman to manage a men's team.

On the other hand, Caslib previously served as the Azkals' gaffer on two occasions, most notably in the first Azkals wave in Bacolod for both the SEA Games and the AFF Championship Qualifiers in 2005-06, as he will be reunited with the Younghusband brothers and Anton Del Rosario who played with him on both occasions.
