Phoenix continues to roll, mauls Mahindra

PASAY—Phoenix's impressive start in the PBA Philippine Cup continued on Sunday night with a 114-104 rout of slumping Mahindra at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Fuel Masters broke away late in the first quarter and led by as much as 30, 105-75, early in the fourth.

The Floodbusters had one final push, going on a 29-6 run to cut the lead to seven, 111-104, with less than a minute left in the game, but it turned out to be a little too late.

JC Intal led Phoenix, which notched back-to-back wins after a season-opening loss with 24 points on 6-of-9 shooting from deep with seven rebounds, while Matt Wright added 21 points on 5-of-9 shooting from long range.

Alex Mallari tallied 19 markers for Mahindra.
