SMB puts NLEX into further limbo in CDO

MANILA--San Miguel added more woes to NLEX after a 106-80 mauling at the Xavier University Gym in Cagayan De Oro in a PBA Philippine Cup out-of-town action on Saturday night.

The Beermen used a 16-4 run at the end of the first quarter to pull away for good, opening a lead as much as 33 before settling for the 26-point winning margin.

Alex Cabagnot led SMB, now in provisional lead at 4-1, with 18 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while Junemar Fajardo added 15 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, and five blocks.

Kevin Alas, Bradwyn Guinto, and Jonas Villanueva each scored 12 markers for NLEX, which further slipped to 1-4.
