MANILA -- The CR7 legacy lives on on a lady tonight

Ateneo also made a strong start to the new year, clawing a hapless TYFA to shreds in a 6-1 rout in the second of the Sunday tripleheader earlier this evening at the Rizal Memorial Stadium

Channeling the eponymous Portuguese superstar, forward Cam Rodriguez caught fire for four goals, including a first-half hat-trick, as coach Jaypee Merida's Lady Eagles went off to a flying start in both halves and never looked back, dragging the sorry Blues back down to earth to move to sixth on goal difference.

The senior skipper scored Ateneo's first five minutes in with a header from Pam Diaz's cross that was cancelled out by April Reyes' free kick in the 16th minute.

But Rodriguez sucked the life out of TYFA towards the end of the first half with two of her masterful strikes in the space of four minutes. First, a curling shot from outside of the box in the 40th minute, and in the 44th minute, unleashed a tight-angled shot to make it 3-1 at the break.

She later completed her monstrous scoring six minutes into the restart with an empty net strike, as fellow forward Diaz even joined the rout with a goal of her own in the 68th, with TYFA's Marielle Sutacio compounded the undermanned side's woes with an own goal sixteen minutes before full time for the final count.
