MANILA--Coach Chot Reyes will announce the Gilas pool that will train together in preparation for three major international competitions this year.

In a press conference on Sunday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig, Reyes will name the 24 players, 12 PBA stars and 12 cadets, who will comprise the national team pool that will serve as the basis for the selection of the Gilas team to three international events this year, the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, the SEABA Championship, and the SEA Games.

The said news conference will take place in between the PBA's scheduled doubleheader at the said venue, where three teams look to solidify their playoff positions while a fourth team fights for its Philippine Cup life.

Alaska will try to go near the second twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals as it battles Mahindra at 4:30 p.m., while Ginebra and Phoenix will slug it out for solo second spot at 6:45 p.m.

NLEX and Meralco may need to hope for a Mahindra win as a loss will officially eliminate the three teams from quarterfinal contention.
