MANILA -- FEU recovered from a shock setback to Green Archers United last week, venting their frustrations at the hapless Fuego Espanya side, firing five goals without reply to put their W-League campaign back on track Saturday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Let Dimzon's Lady Tamaraws unleashed a first-half blitz to snap their two-match losing run for just their second win of the season, as Suet Simoy got the ball rolling with a fifth-minute strike.
But it was Kim Cupal who stole the spotlight, putting the game away from Fuego's reach with a two-minute brace fourteen minutes after Simoy's opener, with Bia Requerme cap off a furious first 45 minutes with a 4-0 thrashing at the break.
Jean Kadil put the final touches at the 61st minute, as FEU jumps past four teams (TYFA, Ateneo, Hiraya, UST) to move up to solo fifth in the table with seven points, two behind their last week's conquerors, while keeping Fuego winless and scoreless for the sixth consecutive time.
