PASIG--Alaska's win over Mahindra on Sunday night kept the team afloat in the playoff race...
...and somehow complicated it.
The result set up a possible long logjam for all the remaining quarterfinal spots in the PBA Philippine Cup at the end of the eliminations.
"Ang ganda ng liga natin ngayon," said Coach Alex Compton after the Aces prevailed at the PhilSports Arena.

Seven teams now have five wins with one or two games left in their respective schedules, while an eighth team, Star, is also keeping in step.
"The rest of us are between 5-4 and 5-5 from ninth to second," Compton continued.
He then pleaded, "Sa lahat ng mga PBA fans, manood kayo kasi ang gulo ng standings ngayon. Lahat kami, hindi namin alam ang mangyayari. Pwedeng wala yung Ginebra sa playoffs. Pwedeng number two sila. Pwedeng wala kami sa playoffs. Pwedeng number two kami."
Ginebra is playing Phoenix, another team in the tight playoff chase, as of posting.
For Alaska's part, however, Compton said, "We have to take care of business. We have to win the next two games."
The Aces will face the Fuel Masters on Friday before finishing their campaign against the Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters, another team in the playoff race, on Feb. 1.
