PASAY--A staggering loss to Phoenix on Wednesday night pushed NLEX to the brink of elimination in the PBA Philippine Cup.
With their backs further against the wall, the Road Warriors are set to make an early preparation for the Commissioner's Cup.
According to Coach Yeng Guiao, it will start with a meeting with the team management.
"We will have a meeting with the coaching staff and probably after that with the management and make our recommendations," Guiao told some media people at the Cuneta Astrodome after the blowout defeat.
About its purpose, he bared, "This will reveal what our weaknesses and what we need to do this early para mabigyan ng remedy."
He also said that trades and free agent signings could be on their way pending the said meeting.
"[Player movements are] a possibility. That's always a possibility. We need to build up the team. When you say 'build it up', you can build it up internally and from external sources.
For the meantime, Guiao said that NLEX will play out their last two games against Mahindra and Ginebra as part of its players' development.
"For now, we will try to maximize whatever we can learn out of the next few weeks while we're still competing," he said in the end.
