MANILA—Phoenix and Alaska will slug it out on Friday night at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay as one team's chance to take the other twice-to-beat advantage in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals could bid goodbye.

The Fuel Masters and the Aces will collide in the main game at 7 p.m., where the result could shape the playoff picture or complicate it further.

A win by Phoenix (6-4) will put the team back to solo second place and may need to await the results of the remaining games to find out if it will join San Miguel in the Top 2.

However, an Alaska (5-4) victory can set up a wild final weekend of the elimination round with the second seed still up for grabs.

Coach Alex Compton, however, vowed that the Aces will go all-out against the Fuel Masters and their last game against the Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters on Wednesday.

"We have to win our next two games," said Compton.

In the first game at 4:15 p.m., also-ran squads Mahindra and NLEX will clash.
