MANILA--'The Rock' is staying with the NLEX Road Warriors.

Asi Taulava himself confirmed it after he met with the NLEX front office and his coach Yeng Guiao on Monday.

News about Taulava leaving NLEX circulated instantly after the oldest active PBA player demanded for a traded two weeks ago because he can't adapat in Guiao's run and gun system.

Team manager Roland Dulatre said that their team and Taulava already agreed upon something and added that the news was just because of his frustration.

“Asi wants to stay,” Dulatre said. “And he promised that he will do whatever he can to help the team win.”

After a MVP stint in ABL and a short tenure with Meralco, Taulava averaged a double-double last season despite playing off father time. He was one of former coach Boyet Fernandez' key players last season.

The recently-bought franchise is in the bottom of the league standings at 1-5 and would badly need a miracle to sweep its remaining games and surge into the playoffs.
