MANILA--A potential PBA Philippine Cup finals preview will take place on Friday night as the top two teams in the standings right now, San Miguel and Rain Or Shine, will slug it out at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
The Beermen, currently at number one, and the Elasto Painters, presently second, will lock horns in the main game of the doubleheader at 7 p.m.
SMB secured a quarterfinal spot with a win against Ginebra on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, and the team now sets its sights on formally securing a top two finish in the eliminations, which will give the squad a twice-to-beat advantage in the next round.
The said goal is the same for ROS, which took down Phoenix also on Sunday night, as the team looks to stay away from falling back to a tight race for the last seven quarterfinal spots.
In the first game at 4:15 p.m., GlobalPort also looks to burst ahead in the playoff race as it will face NLEX, which looks to continue its late playoff run.
