MANILA—Mary Rose Obra led UP's early charge, while Sofia Dungca helped finish its 6-0 shutout of Kaya in their PFF Women's League clash at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.
Obra and Dungca each scored a brace to lead the Lady Maroons' charge en route to a provisional tie with the De La Salle Lady Booters in first place on points.
Obra opened the scoring for UP with a quick brace in the 22nd and the 30th minutes, while Blessie Perez capped their first half storm with a 40th minute strike.
Dungca then sizzled in the second half with her own brace in the 67th minute and the first minute of stoppage time sandwiched by an 81st minute attack from Cristina De Los Reyes.
The Lady Maroons and the Lady Booters each have 12 points, but the latter remains on top on goal difference.
La Salle can solidify its hold of the top spot with a win over UST on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the said venue.
Also on Sunday, Ateneo and Younghusband will battle it out at 4:30 p.m., while Fuego España and Hiraya will grace the nightcap at 7 p.m.
