AMA repulses late Victoria run for back-to-back wins

PASIG—AMA mounted another string of wins after trouncing Victoria-MLQU, 88-80, in their PBA D-League Aspirants Cup tie at the Ynares Sports Arena on Monday.

The Titans stormed ahead in the third quarter, stretching their lead to as much as 20 points.

The Stallions mounted a fourth quarter rally, but they could only come to within six.

Juami Tiongson led AMA, which scored its second consecutive victory, with 22 points, four rebounds, and one steal, while Jeron Teng came close to a triple-double after tallying 18 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists with two steals.

Robbie Herndon paced Victoria-MLQU with 24 markers, 11 caroms, six assists, and one steal.

Aris Dionisio contributed 23 points, 17 boards, and three blocks.
