MANILA—Cignal-San Beda stakes its four-game winning streak against Tanduay on Thursday in the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

After suffering a season-opening defeat, the Hawkeyes have strung four straight wins, enough to merit them a legitimate case as one of the possible title contenders this conference.

But Coach Boyet Fernandez doesn't want to buy in to his team's hype just yet, as he braces for the tougher opponents ahead starting against the Rhum Masters.

"We're trying to prepare ourselves for our future games. We're still a work in progress," he said.

Cignal will bank on its leaders Jason Perkins, Davon Potts, and Robert Bolick to juke it out against a Rhum Masters crew which will be led by Mark Cruz, Bong Quinto, and Paul Sanga.

Tanduay (3-2), meanwhile, is just aching to get back to its winning ways after suffering an 84-80 loss to Racal last week.

Tip off is at 5 p.m., following the duel between Cafe France (4-1) and Victoria Sports-MLQU (1-4) at 3 p.m.

Coach Egay Macaraya seeks to fortify the Bakers' stronghold of the second spot as he continues to hone his players' characters after undergoing a major facelift in the offseason.

"Ang problema namin is everything is a learning process para sa amin. We cannot correct yung mga pagkakamali ng madalian. We have to do it for a long time," he said. "Right now, maganda naman ang results para sa amin. Hopefully, every game we learn," he said.

Paul Desiderio, Michael Calisaan, and Congolese big man Rod Ebondo will lead the fight for Cafe France against the Robbie Herndon-led Victoria squad.
