MANILA--The new season of UAAP seniors football kicked off on Saturday night with a pair of draws at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

NU came back from a 0-2 hole at the half to share the spoils with UE with both of the Bulldogs goal coming from the last ten minutes of the match.

In the second game of the men's doubleheader, UP and La Salle were forced to share the spoils after a goalless stalemate between two of the title favorites.

Both teams let their fans down in a close encounter which several shots went agonizing close to cross the line with sophomore Kintaro Miyagi the most guilty of it, wasting three clear shots to go 1-up.

The closest was his header that was saved by surprise starter Kerbi Almonte in the 82nd minute.
