PASAY—Lucena will once again get a glimpse of championship basketball as the PBA announced that Game 2 of the Philippine Cup finals will happen at the Quezon Convention Center there.
In a copy of the finals schedule obtained by Dugout Philippines on Monday night while Game 7 of the semifinal series between TNT and San Miguel is ongoing at the Mall of Asia Arena, the second matchup of the best-of-seven series for all the marbles will take place in Lucena on Sunday night at 6:30 p.m.
Last year, the Quezon Convention Center hosted Game 3 of the championship round between the Beermen and the Alaska Aces. The Aces took an 82-75 win to go 3-0 up, but the Beermen returned from rock bottom to complete the historic comeback to win the title.
The series opener, on the other hand, will happen at the MOA Arena on Friday night at 7 p.m.
The series will then shift to the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City for Games 3, 4, and, if necessary, 5 on March 1, 3, and 5 respectively.
If still necessary, Game 6 will take place at the MOA Arena on March 8, and should a deciding Game 7 happens, it will be back at Araneta on March 10.
