MANILA -- It w as raining goals in the UAAP yesterday, as Ateneo, La Salle and FEU were the big winners as the football tournament resumes in Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The Lady Eagles came back from a goal down not once, but thrice against FEU, sealing it with a 4-3 win in the first women's match. Apart from Pam Diaz's first equalizer in the 19th minute, skipper Camille Rodriguez notched her hat-trick (28' pen, 76', 78'), with the final two strikes came in just a two-minute span as Ateneo had just had their dream start even made better with the second.

FEU thought that they will finally recover from their shock loss last week to UST, when they get the lead in three instances on a Nina Catedrilla own goal (13'), Jovelle Sudaria's 22nd minute free kick, and Bia Requerme's chip in the 58th minute, but lack of discipline doomed the Lady Tamaraws, with Kim Cupal's dismissal in the 66th minute began their collapse, in which they slumped further to the bottom of the table with their second straight setback.

Meanwhile, La Salle make it two straight against UP in all competitions this year with a masterful 2-1 win in the battle of last season's finalists. Taking the opening bye last week the Lady Archers zoomed ahead for a quick 2-0 lead thru Kyra Dimaandal in the first minute of first-half stoppage time, and Kyla Inquig in just two minutes after the restart, and despite BG. Sta Clara pulling one back in the 55th minute, La Salle's first win of the UAAP season shoved the defending champs to the bottom of the table on the virtue of less goals scored compared to FEU earlier.

However, the Tamaraw booters atone for the ladies' shocking loss with a 1-0 squeaker over a game NU side in the lone men's match, with centre-back Audie Menzi grabbing the lone goal in the 49th minute to remain in pace with leaders Ateneo by scoring their third successive win of the season.
