SAN JUAN, MM—Xavier clobbered Marist, 81-68, in the U12 stepladder semifinal of the City Hoops tournament at the Jacinto Tiu Competition Court inside the former's campus on Sunday.
The host school outscored the Marikina-based side, 31-16, in the third quarter, doubling its first half output, to pull away for good.
The Golden Stallions will face the AMA Junior Titans in the final phase of the stepladder playoffs.
In the first game, I-Cure turned back San Beda-Alabang, 65-62, in the U15 semis.
The club, a selection of Ateneo, Xavier, and Marist players, leaned on the hot hands of Miggy Sahali to earn the right to face Xavier in the championship game.
Sahali finished with 24 points on four triples with five rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
