QUEZON CITY—James White's PBA return was not as triumphant as he expected.
But for him, making a return to the Philippines alone is already a blessing.
"It's a blessing from God to be back. Even though we got a loss, we took a lot from it. It was a lesson learned. It's a long season, so we just got to stay positive," White told some reporters on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum following Mahindra's loss to Meralco at the start of the Commissioner's Cup.

However, he thought his 33-point, 16-rebound, and four-block performance would have been better if the Floodbusters prevailed over the Bolts.
In spite of the defeat, White was happy to fulfill what Coach Chris Gavina wanted him to do.
"I do what the coach has told me to do. Coach Chris told me to be more aggressive, and I executed it," White further said.
