Iniong's One debut highlights Folayang-Ting undercard

By Ivan Saldajeno

MANILA--Gina Iniong is finally heading to One Championship!

Iniong, who starred in Guam-based PXC, is the latest addition to the Singaporean MMA outfit, and she will have her debut right when One goes to the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

The 4-2 Iniong, currently ranked fourth in the pound-for-pound women's ranking in Southeast Asia, will face fellow Filipina Natalie Hills in one of the undercard matches in One: Kings of Destiny on April 21.

Iniong last fought in PXC 51 at the Solaire Grand Ballroom in Parañaque on Jan. 16, 2016, beating Spanish opponent Vanessa Fernandez.

Iniong made her presence felt by beating Mei Yamaguchi at PXC 43 on March 29, 2014 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig. Yamaguchi would become Angela Lee's opponent for the inaugural One women's title won by the latter on May 6.

Meanwhile, Iniong's fellow Team Lakay stablemates Danny Kingad and Kevin Belingon were also booked for matches that will serve as appetizers for the main event, which will feature Lakay's prized fighter Eduard Folayang defending his One lightweight title against Ev Ting.

Kingad will take on Muhammad Aiman of Malaysia, while Belingon battles Toni Tauru of Finland.

Eugene Toquero also makes a return to the One cage as he faces off with Stefer Rahardian of Indonesia.

Another all-Filipino bout will take place in the fight card as Robin Catalan takes on the debuting Jeremy Miado.
