QUEZON CITY—Ateneo continues to soar. UP, on the other hand, continues to sputter.

The Lady Eagles stretched its winning run to six as it pestered the Lady Maroons in straight sets, 25-15, 25-14, 25-15, Saturday in the UAAP Season LXXIX women’s volleyball competitions at the Araneta Coliseum.

Pouncing on the lack of defensive and receiving effort from its Katipunan neighbors, ADMU solidified its hold of the top spot with a 7-1 win-loss card, just two wins away from a return trip to the next round.

Jhoana Maraguinot shrugged off her seven-point output last time as she finished with 17 points, 15 coming from attacks and two service aces. Kat Tolentino had 10 points, while Michelle  Morente had 13 excellent digs for nine points.

Jia Morado found her teammates on point as the captain fired 38 excellent sets en route to 44 Ateneo attacks.

UP, which already lost libero Princess Gaiser to a seson-ending ACL injury, committed 21 unforced errors to drop to a tie with idle FEU at 4-4. Isa Molde topscored with nine points.
