QUEZON CITY—Meralco waxed hot in the fourth quarter to score its second straight win in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the expense of NLEX, 91-84, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday night.

The Bolts saw their hot start getting trumped by the Road Warriors but recovered in time to join the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 99-95 winners over the Mahindra Floodbusters in the first game, at the top spot in the team standings.

Meralco took a 26-19 lead in the first quarter, but NLEX answered with a 26-14 second quarter to go up, 45-40, at the break.

The Bolts recovered in the third quarter to retake the lead and eventually pulled away after starting the fourth on a 12-0 run.

Jared Dillinger led Meralco with 20 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals, while Alex Stepheson chipped in 18 points, 24 rebounds, three blocks, and one steal.

Wayne Chism had 18 points, 17 rebounds, three assists, and one block for NLEX, which dropped to 0-2.
