QUEZON CITY -- NU caused another shock to end their first round of UAAP Men's football, taking down another powerhouse in UST by the slimmest of margins today at Moro Lorenzo.

Mike Arbela struck in the 54th minute to give the Bulldogs it's third straight win and stole the 4th spot in the table away from the Growling Tigers, ending their first half of the season at 10 points, as both NU and UST were tied at seven apiece before the match.

The pesky pressure of NU forced Darryl Regala to give the ball away twice, with the second leading to the lone strike by Arbela from outside of the box after getting the ball from Elmer Sampaga

UST were left to rue their missed chances in the match in which they took more corners and shots, but they could not get find away past NU custodian Chris Perocho for an elusive equalizer that could have the Tigers remain in the hunt for the final postseason spot, but instead they will have to start the second round on seven points in as many matches after being dealt with their fourth loss this season.
