By Ivan Saldajeno

PASAY--Both St. Jude and Ateneo De Davao have the same moniker for their respective sports teams.

But only one "army" will head to the NBTC Division 2 Final.

The "Knights" of Dasmariñas defeated the "Knights" of Davao, 84-65, in the final match of the national semifinals at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday night.

St. Jude slowly but surely dominated a relatively sloppy match that saw both teams committing 37 turnovers each, especially when Ateneo De Davao lost steam late in the fourth quarter.

Victor Buraga led St. Jude with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, six rebounds, and one block, while Bryan Limpangog came close to a triple-double with 13 points, nine rebounds, and seven steals together with four assists and three blocks. As a team, St. Jude got 16 steals in total.

Lawrence Angeles made a living at the free throw line, making 11 of 15 charities, en route to a 20-point game for Ateneo De Davao, which actually played its last elimination assignment earlier Wednesday and walloped New Ormoc High, 103-32.

St. Jude will face Assumption Montessori, which dethroned La Salle-Lipa as Division 2 champ earlier Wednesday, in the final on Thursday at the said venue.
