MANILA -- FEU were made to sweat but got their pedigree in time to snap NU's three-match win streak to open the second round of the men's football tournament here at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Alex Rayos and Audie Menzi provided the spark for the undefeated Tamaraws who ended their streak of draws at three, with their strikes pull them within a point of also unbeaten leaders Ateneo in the table.

FEU broked the deadlock in the 14th minute as Alex Rayos showed great control before guiding the ball to the back of Chris Perocho's net with a semi-volley.

However, the Bulldogs of Mari Aberasturi made their chances count eight minutes later, when Lawrence Colina equalized from an amazing free kick that swerved into the top right corner, grounding RJ Joyel in the process as both teams were even heading into the break.

FEU got its act together at the restart and were duly rewarded in the 53rd minute as Far Eastern U was given a freekick from a considerable distance. What followed was genius as Audie Menzi produced a powerful rocket that smashed the netting giving his team the upper-hand for good.
