Tenorio hopes to see future Gilas stars in delegates to Globe-NBA Cares hoop clinic with Glen Rice

TAGUIG--LA Tenorio believes that the next Philippine basketball stars could just be around the neighborhood only that most of their families do not have enough finances to bring them to training clinics.

That was the main purpose of the team-up between the Ginebra guard's Method Basketball Academy, Globe, and NBA Cares for a special basketball clinic on Friday at the Globe Tower.

"Our goal is to have the next pool of the national team in the future and hopefully the next NBA player," said Tenorio, who was also part of Gilas Pilipinas.

Forty kids from Globe partner communities were given a chance of a lifetime to learn the game from the star Gin King and NBA legend Glen Rice.

"We need more players, and they will be there if we do our part. We've got a lot of young athletes here," said Rice.

The said event was part of the NBA Filipino Heritage Week and Globe's Sports Para sa Bayan project.
