MANILA--The Chinese quintet that made headlines last year by winning the ESL One Pasay and TI6 despite being tagged as heavy underdogs has left Wings Gaming.

The DOTA 2 team of Chu Zeyu, Li Peng, Zhang Ruida, Zhang Yiping, and Zhou Yang is now playing as an independent club known as "Team Random" after shockingly getting released by Wings.

According to reports, the surprise waiver came at the heels of Wings' failed investment for a LOL franchise. Wings reportedly lost US$3 million.

With the DOTA 2 team not agreeing for the organization to take 40 percent from their TI6 winnings to make up for the lost cash, the latter had no choice but to let go of the former.

Official statements from Wings and Random are expected to be released anytime from now.
