PASIG--Mothers' Day may still be a month away, but Junemar Fajardo wants to let the public know how much he loves his mom.
Given the Tuesday off because of San Miguel's upcoming match against Mahindra the night after, the 6-foot-10 beanpole came to Gilas practice at the Meralco Gym as an observer in style, sporting a shirt with the statement "#Mamasboii" in front and a picture of him and his 49-year-old mom at the back.
Asked by some reporters about the getup, he said that this is just one of the testaments of his love to his family.
"Maraming akong t-shirt na gaya nito. May 'Brothers for life' na yung sa likod yung mga kapatid ko," said Fajardo.
On how he got the design idea, Fajardo replied, "Di ba nauso yung nagpi-print ng picture ng pamilya mo [sa t-shirt]?"
On the other hand, if things would go his way, he would love to see his mother watching him play for the Beermen and Gilas in Metro Manila.
What is hindering it from happening? "Di mayaya ng papa ko. Di umaalis sa [Cebu] eh," Fajardo answered.
Junemar's family will have a chance to see him play as he will be part of the Visayas All-Stars in the PBA All-Star Week Lapu-Lapu leg on April 30 at the Hoops Dome.
Four nights earlier in Cagayan De Oro, Fajardo will be in the Gilas lineup that will take on the Mindanao All-Stars.
