QUEZON CITY -- The semifinal ties of the UAAP Men's Football postseason are already set in stone after UST played out a goalless stalemate with La Salle today at the Moro Lorenzo field in Ateneo.
Needing a win to keep hopes of a jump to third alive, the Growling Tigers could not find the back of the net for the entire ninety minutes of play as they end the season in fourth with 21 points and will face the top-seed Ateneo in the Final Four a fortnight from now.
With the result, the Blue Eagles are playing in a dead rubber with third-placed FEU as of this writing, as the Tamaraws face defending champs and two-seed UP in the other semifinal tie.
The Green Archers also had their fair share of chances but it did not prevent them from recording their worst record in 9 years, ending their season assured of a 6th place finish with 16 points.
