QUEZON CITY—Ginebra once again showed its never-say-die attitude and pummeled GlobalPort, 113-96, in their PBA Commissioner's Cup clash at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday night.

The Barangay rallied from 13 down and mauled the Batang Pier in the second half to score their first win of the mid-season conference and snap a four-game losing streak that dates back to the Philippine Cup Finals.

GlobalPort started the game red-hot, opening a 13-4 lead, but Ginebra answered with an 11-0 run to go up, 15-13, and the match became tight for the rest of the first quarter.

The Batang Pier tried to pull away again, taking a 13-point cushion, 49-36, midway through the second frame.

But the Barangay inched closer again, scoring eight straight points to cut the lead to four, 53-49, before settling for a 51-58 deficit at the half.

Ginebra came out of the halftime huddle blazing, outscoring GlobalPort, 34-17, in the third quarter to take an 85-75 advantage before dropping 28 more points in the payoff period to secure the victory.

Justin Brownlee led the Barangay, who finally laid to rest their frustration from their upset loss to the Phoenix Fuel Masters on Saturday night in Davao, with 29 points, eight rebounds, four steals, two blocks, and seven of their 30 total assists.

Stanley Pringle led GlobalPort with 29 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal in a game where Terrence Romeo (14 on 6-of-22 shooting) and Sean Williams (13) had to bleed for their markers.

Dylan Ababou impressed in his first game since being acquired from Blackwater through a trade, making 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting in a starting role.
